History & Background
Founded and named the AIDS/Lifecycle concert Series on January 1, 2008. The concert series opened on January 26, 2008 with 8 concerts through May 17, 2009. Our first year turned out to be a huge success with over 50 total performers and $25,000 raised.
Our goal for the 2009 season was to make the concerts even bigger and bolder, with 10 concerts at 7 wonderful locations around the Bay Area between January and May 2009 with an Encore Concert held in June of 2008. Even with the slow down in the economy, all the volunteers and performers step -up to make the 2009 season a huge success musically and paved the way for the concert series to continue for 2010.
Lifemark Group Arts, Chapel of the Chimes Oakland and the Piedmont Piano Company came on board for 2009 to help with advertising and co-partner with us for two special piano concerts. Piedmont Piano Company went the extra mile and donated a hand made Fazioli piano for the April 26, 2009 concert hosted by Mr. Michael Morgan of the Oakland East Bay Symphony. Bank of the West joined us again along with many other local merchants.
During the 2009 Concert season, Chapel of the Chimes, Oakland became our new home base for the concert series. For the 2010 season, we will continue to grow and maintain the piano concert series. With the new season we also have a new name, TempoVivo Concerts.
One of the many challenges for 2010 will be to find a new home base for the concert series, as well as set-up a Artisitic Board and increase our visibility, marketing and outreach efforts.
The first goal of the concert series is to raise as much money as possible to benefit several principal charities: AIDS/Lifecycle and the SF AIDS Foundation, Healing Waters (Liquid Camp), and the Young People's Symphony Orchestra. Several concerts will be in collaboration with The The Young's People's Symphony Orchestra and will feature_ performances by talented young members of the orchestra and also its Board of Directors.
2009 featured 2 special Piano Concerts with several local pianists as soloists, and Duo teams. Besides guest host Michael Morgan, we also have Bryan Baker, pianist and Conductor of Masterworks Chorale of San Mateo and Bryan Nies, Conductor of the Oakland Youth Orchestra.
The second goal of the concert series is to present talented local artists, both professional and non-professional, with opportunities to volunteer and share their talents for our worthy causes. Performances range across a wide range of musical styles: classical, jazz, gospel, Broadway and others, in both solo and ensemble settings.
Each concert will featured a guest artist or group, along with other outstanding local talent.

A FEW WORDS FROM THE FOUNDER
In the BEGINNING , There was an IDEA, then a DREAM, and finally the REALITY. It is a great pleasure and an honor for me to present the new TempoVivo Concert Series. Our deepest thanks to all the performers, sponsors and our small group of volunteers who have helped make this dream and concert series a reality. Putting these concerts together has often been overwhelming, but the support from our sponsors and performers has been wonderful, and has always made the work a joy.
