Making photographs is one of the ways I participate in life. I explore my own humanity and place in this world, by observing the mysterious internal beauty, struggle, humor and irony, strength and vulnerability of others and our environment. I am drawn to photograph what moves me, that which I find beautiful and life affirming, that which resonates with my sense of grace and, in some cases, that which conflicts with it. I forget myself when I am shooting and become the object of my observation. I a simultaneously fascinated by the continuum of interior and exterior space.
