I am an artist who writes and illustrates children's green books. I have self-published "Helen the Grumpy Pelican" - which tells the story of Helen the Pelican who resides at Lake Merritt in Oakland. The story is about love, loss and healing. Last year, I exibited the giclee prints of original paintings by Peter Lee from this book at Rooz Cafe on Piedmont Ave. in Oakland and was a featured children's book writer at MOCHA in Oakland during the spring of 2008. Presently, I am completing "The Green Kids Action Hero's" - this is a world creation myth and mythological mix of green action hero's who are compelled to save the earth from a dark shadow spreading toxic energy across the land where previously there had been only harmony. The action hero's I've created serve to inspire children in being conscious of green choices interiorly and in relationship to nature for maintaining harmony. My illustrations for this book will be displayed soon on my website to be posted later.
My background as an artist includes working as an actor and director. My art work presently is as an illustrator doing pen and ink drawings for my children's 'green' story book series, including illustrations for the "Green Kids Action Hero's." My focus is local ecology within the Bay Area. My wish is to create this story digitally as well.
