On a photographic level, my earliest influences were painters rather than photographers, Picasso, Rubens, El Greco, O’Keeffe, Escher, Goya and Ver Meer. The Masters, all different but similar in that they used light and texture to create a new system of esthetics. Photographer awareness came to me later, Muybridge, Lang, Strand, O’Keeffe, Brassai, Mapplethorpe, and especially Cartier-Bresson.
