Briefly, I am a self-taught artist with stints as an art major at the University of Southern California and, most recently, working as a production artist at an Oakland based mosaic school, IMA. The bulk of my "schooling" came from 25 years as a graphic artist while doing my own art, in many media, in between jobs.
I am involved now with Jingletown Arts and Business Community . Through them I show regularly during East Bay Open Studios and their December Art Walk as a mosaic artist.
I am also on a team of mosaic artists creating large scale public mosaic art.
The object of my art is to make people exclaim "Oh, I love this"! Seeing the sparkle in their eyes and answering their questions about how it's done is why I make art. I am inspired by words and feelings, colors and sounds, among other things. The public's reaction then inspires me to create more. Adding delight to people's lives is what art is for, I believe.
